Fast forward to 2021 and the same clients approached me with a new idea. They had decided to sell their primary residence and live on the lake year round. Would I be interested in the project? Well of course I would!

By this time we knew each other pretty well and were able to zero in on the main themes pretty quickly, even reprising some of the same concepts. The buildings would orient toward the water and only reveal their contents slowly as one approached and entered.

Clear zones for socializing, for guests, and for the owners were a must. A large covered deck facing the water. A courtyard with a pool.

A separate small studio near the road would provide privacy for the main house, serve as a home office, and accommodate extended stays by their adult daughter. The owner’s suite had it’s own fireplace and deck which led out to a “pier” with a hot tub and elevated views of the water.
